DigitalRajinikanth and Akshay Kumar starrer 2.0 has got itself a nomination at 66th Golden Reel Awards. The nominations are led by A Quiet Place, Mission: Impossible – Fallout and Firstman, with 3 each.
The highest grossing Indian film of 2018 and the costliest India film of all-time Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar starrer 2.0, a sequel to 2010 blockbuster Robot, has been nominated in Sound Editing – Foreign Language Feature category by The Motion Picture Sound Editors (MPSE) at 66th Golden Reel Awards. Academy award winning sound designer Resul Pookutty took to Twitter to share the news. Sharing a screengrab of a mail, Resul wrote, “Absolutely delighted to announce #2Point0 is nominated for the highest recognition in Sound Design , Golden Reel Award at @mpseorg in USA, I’m elated… Indian Cinema march forward… thank you so much #TeamCanaries @shankarshanmugh @arrahman @rajinikanth.”
Talking further to Indian Express about the nomination, Resul said, “Through 2.0, Indian cinema had introduced a new format of sound to the world cinema. This recognition is the greatest affirmation to the technical innovation me and my team has achieved through this film and thereby a proud moment for Indian cinema.
